A one-hundred year old gas station at the entrance to Piedmont Park, and a cornerstone of our Midtown neighborhood, is reenvisioned as a place to gather.
Our vision intertwines filling up and fueling up. We will outfit parking spaces with EV charging stations to mimic the tried and true use of this property 100 years ago. The awning, once used for cars filling up, will be redesigned with Cherry Street Energy to employ a beautiful overhead photovoltaic system to shade our outdoor dining patio. Indoors will feature Old Sol- a modern cafe with nods to the past.
By incorporating photovoltaic roof and canopy systems and offering EV charging, we can begin to see ways that we can incorporate adaptive reuse on a practical and technological level. A gas station returns to its original use. Instead of fossil fuels, it is renewable energy and good coffee that drives business and community. Our charging guests will have access to world-class coffee and service, as well as the ability to work and charge devices while enjoying the premises. We encourage you to join us as we highlight the intrinsic value of stopping to recharge both your batteries and your mind.
